August 4, 2010-Day 216

The next day, we decided to go snorkeling at Kealakekua Bay. While we were waiting for our tour, I took some photos of some canoes, which I thought looked kind of cool.

Then I saw this cute sea turtle that was swimming by the shore.

Hello!

The boat tour took us out to the Captain Cook Monument.

As soon as we got there, we saw a family of spinner dolphins swimming. I did not get a photo, though, because my camera was stored away. The snorkeling by the monument was great. Unfortunately, the coral (and thereby the fish) are in danger because humans keep doing things like dragging kayaks over the coral and walking on it. (See the photo above.)

On our way back, we passed by cool sea caves and sea arches....

And rock monsters.

Creepy.

After our tour was over, we headed over to the Kona Brewing Company for lunch....
